I have always been fascinated by fashion, its universe, its space of expression where you can come across all kinds of extravagance. If Instagram and its influencing people as well as live shows offered by brands give us access to fashion shows and what goes on behind the scene, I felt like exploring this universe through my own eye.
A first meeting in September 2017 made me understand the importance of every one: a pack of photographers coming from all over the world, stars, celebrities, influencing women and men as well as people only coming for a snapshot of famous persons. It’s like a ballet talking place under my very eyes: all the people present have a precise part to play, playing with one another. I have learnt that Paris is the city where the craze is the most important one. First, I’ve tried to take pictures in a street style but I’ve quickly felt unsatisfied with my shots.
However, I’m sure that this event is no without interest so I’ve decided to place myself as a witness, caught up by my documentary approach of photography. Widening the frame, I’ve realized that two worlds are standing alongside each other because Paris hasn’t stopped living for the eight days of Fashion Week. Through this photo-report, I’ve tried to capture the encounter between two worlds with pictures that have managed to make extraordinary and ordinary live side by side.
